“If I was to describe Little Fishes in a few words I would say: ABSOLUTELY AMAZING, BEYOND MY EXPECTATIONS. We joined Little Fishes early January 2023, as we moved down from London. I didn’t really know what to expect at the time. We were struggling for childcare and Little Fishes had a free spot for two days, so we took it. It was fate! One of the best decisions! First thing I have noticed is that the staff that works there is happy and they want to be there; that shows in the way they engage with all the children. They are all positive, encouraging and very respectful to the children. The staff engages with the children in conversations, they are interested in what the children have to say, they speak to them physically on their level, they are patient, they ask lots of curiosity questions, they validate children’s feelings, they listen to them. They make the children feel important. They focus on teaching the kids social and practical things like sharing, problem solving, helping each other. As a positive discipline educator that is music to my ears because the way they are with the children teaches them to believe in themselves.  They take them outside for walks in a forest, they do gardening and many more physical activities. All of these activities help my son to become confident, resilient, and to learn to solve problems. My child started Little Fishes as her first pre-school setting, and staff were wonderful at settling her nerves and initial separation anxiety. Very quickly my little girl was happy, comfortable and relaxed at Little Fishes. She adores the staff and activities set out.
